2 April 2020 (Hong Kong) – The Online edition PyCon HK 2020 Spring is now calling for proposals.
Due to the widespread COVID-19 virus, many technology conferences including some PyCons are canceled or postponed, we hope to keep the python activities running actively online, therefore the idea of organising an online edition of PyCon HK comes into our mind, and also suggests pythonists to make donation to the Python Software Foundation (PSF).
PyCon HK 2020 Spring is an online python conference organised by Hong Kong Python User Group on the 2nd weekend of May, and it is now calling for proposals.
Date: 8-10 May 2020 (Friday-Sunday)
Time (HKT): Friday 10:00 to Sunday 16:00.
Time (GMT): Friday 02:00 to Sunday 08:00.
Call For Proposals (CFP) Submission Link: https://forms.gle/hhK6F1QmUrnJ3rmn7
Call For Proposals (CFP) Deadline: 15 April 2020 23:59 (GMT)
Preferred Conference Languages: English or Cantonese.
We invite you to submit proposals and share it with your friends in the python community. The conference will be free-of-charge, and we encourage participants to make a donation to the PSF.
Individual online meetings form an online meeting
The online conference will be done by a number of individual video conference meetings, which means the speaker will host their own video conference meeting on his preferred time and fit their living timezone. The conference will make a conference agenda with a list of sessions with individual video conference meeting links. We also suggest our speakers record it as well, and we will update the video link on the conference website, youtube channel and pyvideo.org.
The main conference will be hosted on Friday to Saturday in Hong Kong time.
We are looking for volunteers to join us. We are also welcome any other PyCons to work together, which other PyCons can run their sessions in their local languages.
