During the visit of PyCon APAC 2013 in Tokyo, Sammy met with other PyCon APAC organisers and found that PyCon have been held in many cities in Asia except Hong Kong. Upon return, Sammy and Open Source Hong Kong organised the first PyCon Hong Kong in 2015. This event becomes one of the catalysts in promoting and driving the proliferation of Python development and usage in the city.
