For over 20 years, Python has been successfully used as a programming language in industry and service companies as well as in research and science for a variety of tasks. The easy-to-learn programming language has blurred the boundaries between users and developers. Using Python, scientists, engineers, finance professionals, designers, and others can develop solutions to complex problems quickly and without much programming experience. Innovative software companies using Python can enter new markets because they can satisfy the needs of users more quickly than their competitors. Universities all around the world are already using it as the standard in many programming courses and in many different topics.
In terms of organization, Python is produced and underwritten by the Python Software Foundation, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in United States dedicated to advancing and promoting Python.
PyCon is the annual conference hosted by the worldside python community for developers using and developing the open-source Python programming language.
In 2016, we are going to organize second PyCon HK in Hong Kong with the date on October 29-30 (Saturday-Sunday). PyCon HK will be organized by a committee which members are from Hong Kong Creative Open Technology Association (HKCOTA), Open Source Hong Kong (OSHK), Hong Kong Python User Group (HKPUG) and the python community. We will have keynotes, talks and workshops. We are expecting about 230 participants. Through Python, PyCon HK and the community advances its mission of growing the international community of Python programmers.
We value the participation of each member of the Python community and want all attendees to have an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. Accordingly, all attendees are expected to show respect and courtesy to other attendees throughout the conference and at all conference events, whether officially sponsored by PyCon or not.
To make clear what is expected, all delegates/attendees, speakers, exhibitors, organizers and volunteers at any PyCon event are required to conform to the following Code of Conduct. Organizers will enforce this code throughout the event.
