Join us for an electrifying special talk with speakers from PyCon HK 2024, designed to ignite the Python spirit, featuring sessions from 19:30 – 21:00 at Oursky Office, Cheung Sha Wan:

November 16: PyCon HK Conference: Keynotes and Talks
Dive into a day dedicated entirely to Python! Expect over 30 insightful talks by industry experts from AWS, RedHat, MySQL, Nvidia, Bloomberg, Databricks, Canonical and others, spread across three dedicated tracks, and featuring inspiring keynotes and sessions. Join the event on November 16, 2024 (Sat) at 9:15 AM, located in LT-9, LT-8, and LT-7 of the Yeung Kin Man Academic Building at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) (Access Guide). Keynotes and talks will include:
Large Language Models Optimization with Python
AWS speaker Haowen Huang, who will demonstrate various strategies for training LLMs and how to leverage Python and AWS cloud services to address computational challenges.
Taiwan LLM: Bridging the Linguistic Divide with a Culturally Aligned Language Model
Yen-Ting Lin from National Taiwan University will share insights from developing the “Taiwan LLM” discussing the creation process amidst limited traditional Chinese data and cultural differences across regions. The session will explore how culturally aligned language models can help preserve linguistic diversity.
Numbast: Bridging the gap between CUDA C++ and Python
Michael Wang from Nvidia will showcase how Numbast facilitates rapid end-to-end binding generation between CUDA and Python., offering a deep dive into Numba-CUDA. He will also guide attendees through crafting CUDA kernels using Numba-CUDA and creating bindings with Numbast. Promises to be both challenging and engaging!

Additionally, there are several 5-minute Lightning Talk slots open for on-site registration, allowing participants to submit their topics and share engaging presentations on the day of the event.

November 17: Development Sprints
Participate in collaborative coding sessions with fellow Python enthusiasts, aimed at contributing to open-source projects, enhancing skills, and building community. The event will take place on November 17, 2024 (Sun) at 9:30 AM, on the 17th floor of Tower 535, 535 Jaffe Road, Causeway Bay, HK (Access Guide).
