Thumbor: a smart image processing pipeline

Thumbor is a smart imaging service, which enables on-demand crop, resizing and flipping of images. With built-in state-of-the-art face and feature detection algorithms, it delivers a very smart content-aware image cropping and resizing.

In this talk, I will deliver an short introduction to thumbor and discuss how HK01 leverages thumbor to build its next generation image processing pipeline, serving thumbnails and responsive images to its 9M+ audience.

Speaker Bio:

Dick Tang is currently the Director of DevOps at HK01. He is leading his team building various backend infrastructure and improving development workflow to better serve the expanding products and the rapidly growing user traffic.

Before joining HK01, Dick was a DevOps Engineer at 9GAG, helping 9GAG move fast with stable and reliable backend infrastructure system.
